untitled pieces by Michelle Sabado

you’ve got:
a girl who writes
(with words like knives)
and
a boy who fights
(with fists and fire)–
who wins in a war over desire?

you push kiwi seeds into my thighs,
take a canine bite
out of me in july.
sunset melting into
red, trying to prune you
out of my head,
but you just keep
growing,
going, going.
you are the wrong season
for this–
come back.
